Little Friends Preschool is staffed by state certified professionals who desire to see your children grow in all areas of life. Here are some short bios to help you get to know our staff members better.

Shana Prince-Administrator
Shana has a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Mount Union. During her education, Shana earned the Reading Endorsement and she places an emphasis on literacy skills. Shana has taught Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten and has enjoyed being a part of Little Friends Preschool for the past year. Shana and her husband have a three year old son named Elijah, who loves attending Little Friends Preschool. Shana and her family enjoy being outdoors in their spare time.
Linda Stout – Pre-K Teacher
Here in the Pre-K class she covers many skills your child will need to know for better preparation for kindergarten. Linda has enjoyed working with children and their parents at Little Friends Preschool since 1997. She has a CDA in Early Childhood Education and will obtain her Associates Degree from Kent State University in December 2011, also in Early Childhood Education.Mrs. Stout’s classroom has a focus on Kindergarten readiness with special attention to literacy. Her classroom literacy activities include journaling, a word wall, read alouds, and creative story writing and much more! Linda is married with four grown children. She loves spending time at home gardening or crafting in her spare time.
Cheryl Kholos – 4-year-old Teacher
Cheryl is married to Mark and has two children, Joshua and Bethany. She graduated from Columbiana High School in 1980 and has been continuing her education in early childhood since 2001 through NAEYC. Cheryl is certified in first aid and CPR and has been teaching at Little Friends Preschool since 2002. Cheryl also teaches at Salem First Friends Church and will be our after school program coordinator between Little Friends Preschool and Buckeye Elementary. Cheryl’s classroom focuses on Kindergarten Readiness skills and individual creativity. Mrs. Kholos places special attention on literacy activities such as journaling, read alouds, interactive writing activities and a word wall, just to name a few. She enjoys anything outdoors, fishing, camping, and hiking. She also enjoys music, playing guitar and piano. Cheryl loves going to go to the beach as well as working with computers and surfing the Internet. She enjoys working and playing with preschoolers. Cheryl loves spending time with family and friends.
Dawn Hammers – 3-year-old Teacher
Dawn has an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Kent State University. She has worked at Little Friends Preschool since 2002. Dawn works to help our youngest students develop the early literacy skills necessary to prepare for Kindergarten. She focuses on learning the alphabet, journaling, interactive writing, read alouds and much more. She is married to Neil and has two children, Emma and Max. She loves spending time with her family. Dawn also enjoys reading and dancing with her daughter.
Kara Alesi – Teacher’s Aide
Kara is married to Kevin and has three sons, Derek, Billy, and Timmy, and one daughter, Corrin. Kara has been working at Little Friends Preschool since 2002 and was a volunteer for four years prior. Kara supports our teachers and students in daily lessons. She enjoys reading, swimming, playing board games, watching movies, attending Bible study, and sporting events. Kara’s favorite place to go in the ocean. She enjoys working with children and has done so for many years in various positions including Sunday school teacher, and Bible School teacher, volunteer at Salem City Schools, coach, KBC teacher, and nursery supervisor.
